It is well documented that flooding of a family home causes great disruption and distress.
Most academic papers, news reports and other discussions focus on the practical elements of rebuilding the family home and the difficulty of obtaining affordable insurance.
The long-term physical and mental health issues including fear when rain again occurs has not to date been given due regard nor has the personal relationship stresses that can cause a family breakdown been discussed in detail.
Our academic paper “Home, Health, Family: The Impacts of Flooding” addresses these health issues and is now available to buy and download.
We thank The University of Cumbria for their financial and professional assistance in the production of this research paper.
